Yemen's Houthi rebel movement has begun a large-scale campaign of forced eviction of civilians from populated areas under its control. According to the Human Rights Office in Hodeidah province, armed groups regularly raid residential neighborhoods, forcing people to flee their homes. The militants are converting vacated areas and villages into military camps, firing positions, and support bases, turning peaceful settlements into military installations. In parallel, the Houthis launched a combined missile and drone strike on positions of Saudi-led forces; preliminary reports indicate no casualties. Local human rights organizations have appealed to the UN and international charity missions to document human rights violations, organize protection for civilians, and send humanitarian aid to displaced families who are left without water, food, shelter, and medicine. Despite pressure, searches, and detention of staff, international bodies, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, continue to operate in Yemen, even after their transport plane was seized at Sanaa airport.
