Houthis claim successful strike on sensitive enemy target
Yemen's Houthis claimed a successful drone attack on Najran airport in Saudi Arabia, calling it a response to Saudi drones violating the airspace of Saada and Hajjah provinces. Movement representatives warned that any violations will not go unanswered. Tensions escalated after Riyadh was accused of attacking Sanaa airport.
Yemen's Houthis claimed a successful attack on a 'sensitive target' in Saudi Arabia. According to them, the strike was carried out on Najran airport using an unmanned aerial vehicle. The attack was in response to Saudi drones allegedly violating the airspace of Yemen's Saada and Hajjah provinces. Houthi representatives stressed that 'any violation of our airspace will not go unpunished and without response.' The message is accompanied by social media posts showing footage of the alleged strike. Tensions between the sides escalated last month when the Houthis accused Riyadh of attacking Sanaa airport and attempting to prevent an Iranian plane from landing. Following that, the Houthis declared the end of the 'de-escalation phase' and threatened new strikes. They also indicated that any actions against Yemen would be met with retaliatory strikes on Saudi facilities. The Houthis have previously demonstrated an ability to inflict damage beyond their scale, impacting infrastructure, including airports and energy facilities, as well as affecting shipping security in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea.
