According to the US Department of Justice, Said admitted to harboring violent ambitions, stating he hoped to "kill the infidels with a weapon and as many people as possible." He also scrubbed identifying markers from ISIS promotional videos and lied to investigators about weapon ownership. Said was arrested by the FBI in late 2024 on suspicion of planning attacks against Jewish institutions. He offered his home as a shelter for ISIS terrorists and researched synagogues and the Israeli Consulate in Houston for potential attacks. Sentencing is scheduled for October 16.
