Hollywood Star of Jewish Descent Survives Shelling in Ukraine

Hollywood actor Jesse Eisenberg, of Jewish descent, survived a shelling during a secret visit to the Lviv region. He was conducting acting workshops for children as part of the charitable project The Campfire Project. The morning after the attack, the actor saw the aftermath in the news and was devastated. Eisenberg compared Lviv to New York, wondering what would happen if his home were bombed. He had previously received Polish citizenship from President Andrzej Duda.

The actor admitted he was devastated and compared Lviv to his hometown, wondering what would happen if New York were bombed. Eisenberg was born into a Jewish family in Queens, and his ancestors lived in Polish Krasnystaw. In May 2024, he applied for Polish citizenship, and on March 4, 2025, Polish President Andrzej Duda presented him with the document in New York.
