Historic agreement worth hundreds of millions of shekels signed for firefighting personnel

The Histadrut, the Fire and Rescue Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of National Security, and the Firefighters' Organization have signed a new six-year collective agreement, including salary increases, bonuses, favorable retirement arrangements, and employer participation in disability insurance. The agreement aims to strengthen the stability of the firefighting system and address key issues that have arisen over the years.

The Histadrut, the Fire and Rescue Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of National Security, and representatives of the Firefighters' Organization signed today (Wednesday) a new collective agreement for fire and rescue workers in Israel, worth hundreds of millions of shekels. The agreement, effective for six years, includes monetary and percentage salary increases for new and veteran firefighters, increases for command positions, transition arrangements from shift work to day work, signing bonuses, and employer participation in disability insurance. Additionally, favorable retirement conditions were set for first-generation firefighters at a cost of about 60 million shekels per year. Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David said the agreement constitutes a "milestone" and a "work of art" in cooperation between the parties. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir emphasized the love and commitment to the firefighters. Fire Commissioner Eyal Caspi praised the team that led the agreement.
