The Health Ministry approved a partial resumption of surgeries at Medica Raphael Hospital, two weeks after ordering a halt to medical activity in all operating rooms due to deficiencies and staff shortages. The inspection revealed problems in sterilization, disinfection, and supply of sterile medical equipment and instruments, as well as a significant shortage of staff. As a result, scheduled surgeries were suspended, but other hospital services continued to operate. During the two weeks, the hospital management was required to make corrections and present the steps taken. After reviewing the findings, the ministry determined that the conditions for partial operation had been met, and yesterday four operating rooms were opened, approved for major surgeries only. The decision came after the board and management declared that the deficiencies had been corrected and committed to meeting licensing conditions. The ministry will continue regular inspections at the hospital and other hospitals.
