Healing Space: Therapeutic Farm for Children with PTSD to Be Established in Sderot
The Sderot Municipality, in partnership with donors, will invest approximately 16 million shekels in establishing a therapeutic farm for children and adolescents dealing with post-trauma. The farm will combine horse therapy, leisure, and education, and will be partially funded by Samaritan's Purse. The project is expected to be completed by October 15, 2026.
The Sderot Municipality, in collaboration with companies and donors, will invest approximately 16 million shekels in establishing a therapeutic farm for children and adolescents dealing with post-trauma. The farm will integrate therapy, leisure, education, and strengthening personal and community resilience, using advanced therapeutic tools based on interaction with horses. Samaritan's Purse will fund 11 million shekels of the amount. The project will include a new, advanced complex with therapeutic infrastructure, activity and training areas, and spaces adapted for children, adolescents, and families. The completion date is set for October 15, 2026. The municipality estimates that the farm will be one of the most significant resilience projects in the city in recent years.
