In the right-wing political system, the possibility that MK Ofer Winter will join the Religious Zionism party led by Bezalel Smotrich is being examined. However, according to a report by Yaara Shapira on Kan 11, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's circle expresses distrust of Winter. A senior figure in Netanyahu's circle said: "Ofer Winter is the Silman of our side. He cannot be trusted," referring to concerns that Winter will not express confidence in Netanyahu's leadership. Meanwhile, Winter is considering establishing a new party that would seek to connect religious and secular publics and call for the formation of a broad right-wing government, which would also include parties from the opposition bloc. The Prime Minister's Office stated that relations with Winter are excellent. Winter's office did not respond. The report comes amid internal struggles in Likud ahead of the elections, and alongside primaries in Religious Zionism, where after Smotrich were ranked: Orit Strock, Simcha Rothman, Zvi Sukkot, Ohad Tal, and Omer Rahamim. Smotrich intends to reserve a realistic spot for Zvika Mor, while polls give the party only about 4-5 seats.
