He came "instead of" his martyred brother.. "Yahya" awaits salvation

The Abu Tuaima family in Khan Younis welcomed a baby boy after losing their only son, Karam (8 years old), in an Israeli strike on October 15, 2024. But the newborn, Yahya, suffers from complex and severe heart defects, and the hospital has issued an urgent medical referral to save his life, but he has not yet traveled abroad for treatment. Mother Wafa Sahmoud recounts the family's suffering in a displacement tent, where Yahya desperately needs specialized care.

The family of Nidal Abu Tuaima in eastern Khan Younis lived with their five children. On October 15, 2024, their home was hit by a nearby strike, causing minor injuries to the family, but a wall fell on their only son, Karam (8 years old), killing him. After forced displacement and loss of property, the family settled in a tent in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis. Mother Wafa Sahmoud became pregnant again, and when she learned it was a boy, she felt he was God's compensation. But a day after Yahya's birth, her sister-in-law noticed he was clearly blue. Medical tests revealed complex heart defects: double inlet ventricle with a functionally single ventricle, transposition of the great arteries, Criss-cross heart, right ventricular outflow tract obstruction of 40 mmHg, patent ductus arteriosus, and an atrial septal defect. Oxygen saturation was only 74%. Doctors warned of the danger of delaying travel for treatment abroad, but the urgent medical referral has not yet been implemented. The mother spends most of her time with him in the hospital or in the tent, where conditions are unsuitable for his sensitive health condition.
