A high-risk sex offender, a resident of the south, was arrested yesterday (Thursday) after dozens of photos and videos containing severe sexual abuse material, including sexual recordings of minors, were found in his home. This was reported by the Israel Prison Service. As part of an operational activity by the southern team of the 'Tzur' unit in the Alternatives to Incarceration and Supervision Division of the IPS, a search was conducted at the offender's home. During the search, unit officers located two hard drives hidden in a closet and seized them for examination. The hard drives were later transferred for inspection by the unit's cyber officer. According to the IPS, an in-depth examination revealed dozens of photos and videos containing severe sexual abuse material, including sexual recordings of minors. Possession of the materials was, according to the IPS, in violation of the restrictions imposed on the man under his supervision order. Following the findings, the offender was arrested and transferred for further investigation at the Ashkelon police station. The article recalls a similar case from April 2024, when another high-risk sex offender was arrested after being recorded picking up a 15-year-old boy in his car.
