Hamas: We Made Concessions to Save Our People, Weapons Issue Linked to Occupation Withdrawal

Hamas leader Ghazi Hamad said the movement made concessions to save the Palestinian people in Gaza from killing and displacement, and stressed that the weapons issue is linked to the withdrawal of the occupation, the entry of the national committee, and the start of reconstruction, and that the process of registering weapons will not begin until after the completion of the first phase.

Dr. Ghazi Hamad, a member of the Hamas negotiating delegation, said that the negotiations were difficult and tough, confirming that the delegation tried to reach the best possible formula to serve the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. In statements to Al Jazeera, Hamad explained that the movement made concessions to save the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip from killing and displacement. He stated that the weapons issue is linked to the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces, the entry of the national committee into the Gaza Strip, and the start of the reconstruction process. He added that the occupation will not interfere in the process of registering and storing weapons, clarifying that the national committee is the body that will undertake this task. Hamad emphasized that the process of registering and storing weapons will not begin until after the completion of the first phase.
