Hamas warns of accelerating settlement in the West Bank and calls for confrontation

The Islamic Resistance Movement 'Hamas' warned on Thursday of the danger of the accelerating settlement in the occupied West Bank, in light of the reopening of the previously evacuated 'Ganim' settlement near Jenin with the participation of Israeli ministers. It stressed that annexation, settlement, and displacement plans 'will not pass', calling on Palestinians to strengthen steadfastness and activate resistance, and urging the international community to halt settlement expansion and hold occupation leaders accountable.

In a press statement, the movement affirmed that establishing settlements and outposts on occupied Palestinian lands 'will not change the reality of land ownership and its identity', stressing that annexation, settlement, and displacement plans 'will not pass, whatever the cost in sacrifices'. It said that the 'arrogance of the occupation' will not succeed in uprooting the Palestinian people from their land, calling on the Palestinian people to strengthen their steadfastness and adherence to their land, and to activate means of resistance and confrontation against the occupation and its settlers. Hamas stressed the need to unify factional and popular efforts to thwart the plans of Judaization, annexation, and displacement, calling on the international community to assume its legal and political responsibilities and work to stop settlement expansion. It also called for holding occupation leaders accountable for the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, their land, and their holy sites.
