Hamas tries to recover: IDF and Shin Bet launch offensive in Gaza

The IDF and Shin Bet attacked and destroyed five weapons warehouses and a Hamas launch site in the Gaza Strip. The warehouses were established inside mosques and alongside humanitarian infrastructure. Security officials estimate that Hamas still possesses 50-70 thousand weapons and identify attempts to reestablish weapons production lines.

The IDF and Shin Bet launched a broad offensive in the Gaza Strip, during which they attacked and destroyed five weapons warehouses and a Hamas launch site. According to a joint statement by the IDF and Shin Bet, the warehouses stored rockets, firearms, explosives, grenades, and additional combat equipment. The warehouses were established inside mosques and alongside humanitarian infrastructure, cynically exploiting the civilian population, according to security sources. Security officials estimate that Hamas and other terrorist organizations still possess between 50,000 and 70,000 weapons, including rifles, pistols, machine guns, and shoulder-launched missiles. Additionally, attempts by Hamas to reestablish assembly lines for producing anti-tank missiles, grenades, and explosive devices, as well as workshops for refurbishing missile launchers, have been identified. A security source told Maariv that Hamas "shows no signs of disarming. On the contrary. We see attempts to renew the independent production of weapons." According to him, Israel is carrying out "targeted eliminations and operations in a measured manner."
