A Hamas operative from east Jerusalem, identified as Tarzan Hammad, 25, threatened to kill MK Zvi Sukkot (Religious Zionist Party) in a private Facebook message. The threat came after Sukkot, chairman of the Knesset Education Committee, toured Arab schools in east Jerusalem. Hammad sent photos of a firearm and ammunition, writing: "I always have a weapon, I travel without security checks, I will kill you when I see you." Following the threat, the Knesset and Israel Police raised Sukkot's threat level to level 4 and increased his security. Sukkot stated the threats would not deter him from overseeing the sector. Authorities are investigating the source of the messages. People close to Sukkot described the threats as a major escalation in severity.
