Hamas Calls on Mediators and US to Act to Prevent Israel from Derailing Gaza Agreement

Hamas called on mediators and the US administration to take urgent action to prevent Israel from derailing the Gaza agreement, stressing that ongoing Israeli violations threaten the implementation of the second phase of the deal. This came in a press statement in response to a joint statement by foreign ministers of several countries condemning the occupation's violations in the Strip.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) affirmed that the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, which condemned the ongoing Israeli occupation violations in the Gaza Strip, reflects the gravity of the escalation pursued by the occupation government and warns of its repercussions on the future of the ceasefire agreement and the political path. In a press statement on Thursday, the movement said that the continued Israeli violations threaten the implementation of the second phase of the agreement and undermine efforts to complete it, calling on the countries participating in the statement, along with the mediators and the US administration, to take urgent and effective action to prevent "Israel" from derailing the agreement through continued killing, aggression, and evasion of the commitments imposed by the ceasefire agreement. Hamas added that the Palestinian factions dealt "positively and responsibly" with the efforts to complete the implementation of the agreement and presented their position on the roadmap in a national spirit, paving the way for completing the second phase. The movement stressed that what is required at this stage is to compel "Israel" to stop its violations, implement its commitments under the agreement, and not allow it to continue obstructing its path or imposing new facts on the ground by force.
