Hamas briefs factions on efforts to move to second phase of 'Trump plan'
Hamas announced that its political bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya met this evening in Cairo with leaders of Palestinian factions and briefed them on political developments and recent meetings with mediators in El Alamein, following the announcement of approval of the roadmap for the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. The attendees held Israel responsible for obstruction through its rejection of the roadmap and its denial of first-phase understandings, and addressed settlement in the West Bank and the suffering in Gaza.
Hamas announced that its political bureau chief, Dr. Khalil al-Hayya, met this evening, Monday, in Cairo with leaders and representatives of Palestinian factions, and briefed them on political and field developments, and recent meetings with the Egyptian leadership and mediators and guarantors in El Alamein over the past two days. Al-Hayya provided a detailed explanation of the course of the meetings, the positions of the parties, and the reactions that followed the announcement of approval of the roadmap for implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement. The attendees held the occupation responsible for obstruction through its positions rejecting the roadmap, its denial of first-phase understandings, and its continued violations. They addressed settlement and the Judaization of the West Bank, settler attacks, and the suffering of Gaza's people and ways to stop the aggression. They stressed efforts to relieve the people, strengthen their resilience, achieve recovery and reconstruction, and affirmed the need to arrange the Palestinian house on the foundations of national and democratic partnership and formulate a comprehensive national strategy to achieve the right to self-determination and establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
