The Ministry of Health extended the ban, citing abnormal pollution, the causes of which are still being determined. The closure in the middle of the summer season deals a severe blow to the coastal economy. Business owners report a drop in activity and visitor numbers by more than half. Inbal Alankwa from the establishment "Paradiso" notes that restaurants purchase supplies and schedule staff in advance, and sudden bans render preparations futile. Ran Baranovski, co-owner of the "Camel" cafe on Dado Beach with 35 years of experience, says this is the third such incident in six months, and entrepreneurs do not expect compensation. The Environmental Protection Ministry reported 46 cases of beach closures since the start of the season, with the peak in Haifa. Theories being considered include algae accumulation and sewage discharge. Municipal services have begun cleaning the shoreline.
