Haifa Bay Changes Its Face: Compounds 3-4 in the Giant Plan Approved - "Another Significant Step"

The National Council for Planning and Building approved the environmental survey guidelines for compounds 3 and 4 in TMA 75 in Haifa Bay. The plan includes more than 4,750 apartments, millions of square meters for employment and industry, a huge metropolitan park, and a new arena. Compound 3 spans about 5,800 dunams, and compound 4 about 10,000 dunams. The director general of the Planning Administration, Rafi Elmaliah, called the approval "another significant step."

The National Council for Planning and Building approved the environmental survey guidelines for compounds 3 and 4 in TMA 75, the giant plan for the rehabilitation of Haifa Bay. This is a significant step in advancing the plan, which has moved from the strategic planning stage to the detailed planning stage. Compound 3 spans about 5,800 dunams in the heart of the Haifa metropolis, including the vacated oil refineries area, Hutzot HaMifratz, and the employment zone in Kiryat Ata. The plan offers about 8 million square meters of built-up area for advanced industry, employment, commerce, leisure, and recreation, including the "heart of the metropolis" - a public hub of about 1.1 million square meters. Compound 4 spans about 10,000 dunams and includes the renewal of the Check Post area, a metropolitan park of more than 5,000 dunams around the Kishon River, a multi-purpose arena, and an integrated transportation complex at Yagur Junction. In total, the plan includes more than 4,750 apartments, of which about 3,000 housing units are in Hutzot HaMifratz and 1,750 apartments in compound 4. The director general of the Planning Administration, Rafi Elmaliah, stated that the approval is "another significant step" in advancing the plan, which aims to combine urban development with environmental rehabilitation. The next stage includes environmental impact surveys and detailed planning.
