Hadash, Ta'al and Balad expected to announce a union at the end of the week

Hadash, Ta'al and Balad are expected to announce a union in the upcoming elections this Saturday, after negotiations between the parties collapsed last week due to Ta'al chairman MK Ahmad Tibi's refusal to accept slots 2 and 9. The breakthrough was made possible after Ta'al was promised additional roles, including Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, a representative on the Finance Committee, and the position of faction chair. Ta'al will convene tomorrow to discuss the updated proposal.

Hadash, Ta'al and Balad are expected to announce a union in the upcoming elections this Saturday, after negotiations between the parties collapsed last week. The reason for the collapse was the refusal of Ta'al chairman, MK Ahmad Tibi, to accept slots 2 and 9 on the joint list. However, the breakthrough in talks was made possible after Ta'al was promised additional roles, including Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, a representative on the Finance Committee, and the position of faction chair. Hadash chairman Yosef Jabareen and former MK Osama Saadi of Ta'al met yesterday and reached almost final agreements. Ta'al will convene tomorrow to discuss the updated proposal from Hadash and Balad, and on Friday will hold internal elections for the list. Barring surprises, the three parties will announce a union on Saturday.
