Gynecologist Compared Likud Voters to Monkeys – The Response Was Not Long in Coming

MK Keti Shitrit attacked Dr. Dov Laxman, a gynecologist who categorized Likud voters as types of monkeys, and warned against the violent discourse in society. Shitrit said she would not go to such a doctor, and emphasized her pride in the heritage and values she received from home. She called for a deep change in the education system, focusing on values and the children's souls, and noted that the violent discourse is everyone's problem.

MK Keti Shitrit attacked Dr. Dov Laxman, a gynecologist who categorized Likud voters as types of monkeys, and warned against the violent discourse in society. Shitrit said: "If he treats me like a gorilla or a baboon, I would not go to such a doctor. You cannot separate the head from the emotion. It is impossible. If that's how you think of me when I come to you? You are a doctor." She added: "What he is saying is 'I divide the people into baboons and normal ones.' He does not say the baboons are anyone other than Likudniks, and emphasizes that they are Moroccans. I am proud of the heritage and values I received from home, and I despise such people." She then addressed the field of education: "The education system in the State of Israel needs a deep change. They treat the education system as an achievement-oriented system, and today our education system has a problem with the souls of today's children." She called for lowering the violent discourse and focusing on children, noting that the problem is not only of the school or the Ministry of Education but the entire educational approach.
