Gush Dan traffic jams in the crosshairs: new NIS 250 million project gets underway

The complex is scheduled to open in mid-2029.

The project, with an investment of over NIS 250 million, will be built near Highway 40 and the future Highway 46, and will serve as a transportation hub combining public transportation, private vehicles, and pedestrians. It will include 180 stations for electric buses, a parking lot with about 1,200 parking spaces, and dedicated bridges for vehicles, buses, and pedestrians. The center will connect to the terminal station of the Purple Line of the light rail, which will open about a year earlier. The line's route passes through Pilot Junction, Yehud, Or Yehuda, Sheba Medical Center, Ono Valley, Ramat Gan, Givatayim, Tel Aviv, and ends near the Savidor train station. The complex is scheduled to open in mid-2029. The project aims to address heavy traffic congestion in the area, especially on Highway 471 and Highway 461. According to Levian's assessment, it is expected to reduce congestion, encourage the use of public transportation, and improve accessibility for hundreds of thousands of residents. The Ministry of Transportation noted that the project is part of a strategic plan to establish integrated transportation hubs across the country.
