A Kuwaiti official close to the government told Kan News that all these alliances are directed at Iran, as countries attacked by it seek protection. He added that the alliances are not aimed at Israel, since Israel, unlike Iran, has not attacked the Gulf states. It was also reported that before the war with Iran, a separate defense pact was signed between Pakistan and Kuwait, which was one of the most targeted countries by Iran. An unofficial Saudi source said that Israel's concern about Turkey is understandable, but Turkey cannot harm Israel, and that the 'Mecca Agreement' pulls the rug out from under Iran's feet through the Muslim support it garners.
