He made clear that Greece is fully prepared for any scenario, while emphasizing his country's military strengthening. Regarding relations with Israel, Gerapetritis said that cooperation with it is not 'over-investment,' but part of a multi-layered foreign policy, under which Athens continues to maintain open channels with the Arab world. He concluded by saying: 'Yes, we want peace. But we want it from a position of strength. With confidence and without complexes of fear.' Additionally, the Greek media outlet Pro News reported on an unusual scenario in which a military conflict between Israel and Turkey could spill over into the eastern Mediterranean and even involve Cyprus. According to the report, Israel is allegedly considering a scenario of an attack against Turkish targets in northern Cyprus, if Jerusalem concludes that Turkey's military presence in the area threatens Israeli interests.
