At a Likud conference held this evening (Sunday) in Givat Shmuel, MK Tali Gottlieb was asked by a Likud central committee member how to handle the controversy surrounding the Basic Law on Torah Study, just before the elections. Gottlieb replied that the law is a supreme value, but stressed the need for coalition concessions: 'If you want us to get the mandate to form a government – we need to make concessions. Either a Palestinian state, or a Jewish state.' She attacked Yair Golan and Gadi Eisenkot, claiming that Eisenkot, who served as Chief of Staff, supported the entry of Qatari money into Gaza. Gottlieb presented a dichotomy between the Torah Study Law and the establishment of a Palestinian state, using divisive language.
