A 44-year-old resident of Modi'in Illit was arrested on suspicion of publishing threatening statements in a WhatsApp group directed at the commander of the Bnei Brak-Ramat Gan police station. The investigation was opened at the Moshavim station following information received by the police about threatening messages published in the group. As part of investigative actions, the suspect was located yesterday and arrested, and was transferred for questioning at the Moshavim station, at the end of which he was imprisoned. This morning (Thursday) he was brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, which extended his detention until Sunday, August 9. The investigation is ongoing. The police stated that they take threats against police officers and public servants seriously, and that they will act to ensure the full extent of the law is applied to anyone who tries to intimidate them in the course of their duties.
