Gilad Erdan to announce establishment of his own party - Edelstein to be second on list

Gilad Erdan announced today (Wednesday) that he will establish a party under his leadership, with the official declaration expected tomorrow. Yuli Edelstein is expected to take the second spot on the list. Erdan is in talks with the 'El HaDegel' and 'Fourth Quarter' movements, as well as with Aliza Bloch. Sources in the 'Bloc Between the Blocs' camp criticized his statement that he would not include the Democrats in a future government, arguing it weakens his bargaining power vis-à-vis Netanyahu. Hezi Nehama confirmed he would join, but as of now is not expected to join.

Gilad Erdan, former Israeli ambassador to the UN, announced today (Wednesday) that he will establish a party under his leadership, with the official declaration expected tomorrow. Former Knesset member Yuli Edelstein is expected to take the second spot on the list. Erdan is in talks with the 'El HaDegel' movement, which is examining connections with additional parties, and with the 'Fourth Quarter' movement, as well as with Aliza Bloch. He held conversations with Benny Gantz, Dedi Simchi, Ayelet Shaked, and Edelstein, but a meeting among the four remained without a decision, as Shaked and Edelstein awaited his decision. Earlier this week, sources in the 'Bloc Between the Blocs' camp criticized Erdan's statement that he would not include the Democrats party in a future government, arguing it weakens his bargaining power vis-à-vis Netanyahu and leaves only one option for forming a government. Reserve Colonel Hezi Nehama confirmed he would join the party, but as of now is not expected to join.
