Haifa businessman Gad Zeevi is negotiating to acquire Gadot Group, a partner in Haifa Port, at a valuation of about $550 million. Zeevi leads a group of investors, and about ten days ago a memorandum of understanding was signed to acquire the company from Tene Fund (60%) and a group of investors led by LBH (40%). The process is being led by investment bank Jefferies. Gadot's main asset is a 30% holding in Haifa Port, alongside India's Adani (70%). Tene Fund, managed by Ariel Halperin, acquired Gadot in 2014 for $73.5 million from the receivers, after the collapse of Yossi Maiman's Ampal Group. In 2020, Tene tried to float Gadot at a valuation of $300 million but postponed the move. In 2021, it sold 40% of Gadot's shares to LBH at a valuation of $280 million. In 2022, Gadot joined the Adani Group, and together they won the tender to privatize Haifa Port for NIS 4.2 billion. In 2025, 676,000 containers passed through Haifa Port, compared to 648,000 in 2024. The sale of Gadot is significant for Tene, which has not raised a new fund since 2017. Zeevi, a former owner of Beitar Jerusalem, is known for his failed investment in Bezeq in 1999.
