The incident occurred on July 21, 2026, at around 00:04, when a report of arson was received at the 100 emergency hotline. Officers from the Bat Yam police station arrived at the scene, collected evidence, and carried out operations to locate the suspects. The investigation revealed that two suspects arrived together at the storage room and attempted to break down its door. After failing, according to suspicion, one of them poured a flammable substance on the door and set it on fire. The arrested suspect was transferred for questioning at the Bat Yam station, and at its conclusion was imprisoned. His detention was extended from time to time in court, and during the investigation evidence was gathered linking him, according to the police, to offenses of arson, attempted burglary, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Upon completion of the investigation, a prosecutor's statement was filed against him, and in the coming days an indictment is expected to be filed against him.
