Funeral of Reserve Master Sergeant Tamir Vaknin, Fallen in Southern Lebanon | Yashar

The funeral of Reserve Master Sergeant Tamir Vaknin, 33, from Eilat, who fell in battle in southern Lebanon alongside Reserve Major Harel Birnstock, is taking place today in the military section of the cemetery in Eilat. The two fell in an incident during searches for new sites, when the squad entered a booby-trapped house, an explosive device was activated and collapsed part of it. Forces evacuated Birnstock and Vaknin along with four other soldiers who were seriously wounded. Following the incident, the Air Force struck targets in the southern Lebanon area.

Following the incident, the Air Force, directed by the Northern Command's fire complex and the 91st Division's fire brigade, struck targets in the southern Lebanon area.
