The IDF published today (Wednesday) an update on the handling of investigations into five exceptional incidents in the Gaza Strip, which have drawn public and international attention since the outbreak of the war. In two of them - the death of the girl Hind Rajab and the killing of 15 Palestinians, including medical personnel, in Tel al-Sultan - it was decided to continue the examination in a Military Police investigation. In two other incidents, it was determined that there is no reasonable suspicion of a criminal offense, and in another incident, the taking of command measures is being considered. The IDF explained that the incidents were examined by the General Staff's investigation mechanism and were transferred for review by the military prosecution. It was also noted that since the outbreak of the war, the mechanism has completed investigating about 150 incidents. In April 2024, seven workers of the aid organization WCK were killed after the IDF attacked the vehicles they were traveling in in Deir al-Balah. The investigation revealed that the forces identified an armed man in the convoy and subsequently mistakenly identified several other people as armed. The chief military prosecutor determined that the commanders' decisions did not cross the criminal threshold. In January 2024, IDF forces fired at a vehicle in Gaza City in which the Hamada family was traveling. Five were killed, and Hind Rajab and her cousin Layan remained alive. Later, a shell was fired at a Red Crescent ambulance and the two paramedics were killed. In March 2025, an IDF force fired at vehicles in an ambush in Tel al-Sultan, which turned out to be a fire truck, ambulances, and a UN vehicle. 15 Palestinians were killed. The prosecution ordered a Military Police investigation. In February 2024, a military force fired a shell at a building in Khan Younis that turned out to be affiliated with MSF. Two women were killed. It was decided to examine command measures.
