From Pain to Growth: The Farm in Binyamin Becomes a Regulated Community

The event was attended by founding families, ministers, and Knesset members, marking the transformation of the site into a growing community center in eastern Binyamin, as part of an expansion plan that includes additional communities.

11 years after the initial settlement following a severe terror attack, residents of the Malakhei Shalom community in Binyamin celebrated the completion of all regulation stages and its transformation into a regulated community. The festive event was held this week (Tuesday) in the presence of the Rosenfeld and Har-Melech families, alongside ministers, Knesset members, and public figures. The community, now home to about 40 families, is named after Malakhei Rosenfeld and Shalom (Shuli) Har-Melech, who were killed in attacks. Its story began in 1976 with the establishment of the Nahal outpost Mevo Shilo, and in 2015, a day after the murder of Malakhei Rosenfeld, a group of pioneers settled and established the point. The government recognized the community in 2023, and now the process has been officially completed. Binyamin Regional Council head Israel Gantz said it was "a day of historical justice" and promised to continue building and planting in memory of the fallen. Settlement Minister Orit Strock welcomed the regulation, and MK Limor Son Har-Melech described it as "a resolute Zionist response to terror." The Binyamin Council sees this regulation as the first step in a broader settlement move, including the establishment of new communities such as Knafei Shachar and Metzukei Eretz, as part of strengthening the hold on eastern Binyamin.
