From Morning to Night: The Police Enforcement Operation on Israel's Roads

Hundreds of police officers and volunteers in about 500 patrol vehicles have been deployed since morning in a large-scale traffic enforcement operation by the Traffic Division on Israel's roads, in cooperation with the National Road Safety Authority. The activity focuses on risk routes and is carried out using advanced technological means, both overt and covert, until the night hours.

Hundreds of police officers and volunteers, about 500 patrol vehicles and motorcycles both overt and covert, have been deployed since Thursday morning, July 30, in a large-scale enforcement operation by the Traffic Division on Israel's roads. The operation is conducted in cooperation with the National Road Safety Authority, as part of the national emergency plan to combat road accidents. Forces are deployed from the north to the south of the country, carrying out continuous enforcement throughout the day and into the night. Enforcement focuses on risk routes and hotspots in intercity and urban areas, mapped by the Traffic Division's research and development department based on accident data analysis. Head of the Traffic Division, Commander Haim Shmueli, said: 'Governance on the roads is not a slogan; it requires consistent enforcement presence and exhausting the law with those who endanger human life.'
