Three residents of the south, aged 17, 31, and 33, are expected to stand trial on suspicion of throwing a fragmentation grenade at a residential building in Bat Yam. The incident occurred on August 2 at 3:00 AM, when a report was received about an explosion on Yitzhak Sadeh Street. Police and bomb disposal experts discovered that a fragmentation grenade had been thrown at the building's lobby and exploded, causing damage to the entrance area. Shortly after, officers from the Ashdod station located a vehicle suspected of fleeing the scene, and the three suspects were arrested in an open area in Ashdod. During the investigation, another grenade was found buried in the ground near the arrest site. The police attribute to them conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated sabotage, and negligence in guarding dangerous materials. With the completion of the investigation, an indictment is expected, and in parallel, the police will request their detention until the end of proceedings.
