Forward editor-in-chief out just months after taking post

Katz, who took on the role in January, is an award-winning journalist with previous editorial positions at The City, the New York Daily News, and The Village Voice. In December, she expressed being "thrilled and inspired" to join the Forward at a "critical moment" for Jewish safety, identity, and values. During her tenure, she authored a column called "Looking Forward," covering topics from Jewish affairs amid political turmoil to a Holocaust survivors' Purim party and a New York City mayor's contributions to antisemitism. When asked about her departure, Katz referred the JTA to the Forward's public relations team, which did not immediately respond. The Forward's publisher, Rachel Fishman Feddersen, also did not reply to a request for comment. The reasons for her departure remain unclear.
