Former IDF chief Halutz: Netanyahu concealed warnings before Oct. 7, bears ultimate responsibility

Former IDF chief of staff Dan Halutz accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of concealing warnings he received before the October 7 massacre, saying ultimate responsibility rests with Netanyahu. Halutz cited a Haaretz report about a warning from UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed and said Netanyahu left security discussions without decisions.

Former IDF chief of staff Dan Halutz accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of knowing more than he disclosed ahead of the October 7 massacre and of concealing information. In an interview with 103FM, Halutz responded to a Haaretz report that Netanyahu received an explicit warning days before October 7 during a conversation with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed. Halutz said he believed the conversation took place, adding that there are "too many supporting reasons showing that there was information that the man concealed." He also addressed claims that Netanyahu failed to act on warnings, saying the prime minister left security discussions without decisions. Halutz stated that "the bottom line of a discussion convened by the prime minister is the responsibility of the prime minister" and compared Netanyahu to a lead actor in a bad film. He called on the public not to re-elect Netanyahu, saying he "failed so totally in every respect." Halutz also broadened his criticism to education, health, transportation, and crime, saying the common denominator is the prime minister.
