"Forfeit for God" campaign exceeds 50 million shekels in waived debts

Waivers of about 450,000 shekels were recorded since the early hours of Sunday, September 13, 2026. The waivers include commercial and personal debts, in addition to checks, promissory notes, and financial obligations between relatives and friends. The value of the waivers ranges from small amounts to tens and hundreds of thousands of shekels, including a waiver of 25,000 shekels and another of 70,000, along with arrangements to document a waiver of debts worth about one million shekels in the northern West Bank. The initiative saw interaction from various Palestinian areas and towns, including northwest Jerusalem, Silwad, Al-Eizariya, and Tulkarm. Some lawyers and economic entities expressed readiness to help close financial files in favor of those in debt. Al-Rimawi called on companies and economic institutions to review the files of their debtors and consider dropping or reducing some debts for cases facing difficult humanitarian and economic circumstances. Al-Rimawi launched the campaign amid increasing economic burdens and accumulating debts, calling for the voluntary waiver of part or all of the receivables.
