Forced Labor, Violence, and Indecent Acts: Indictment Filed Against Netanya Farmer

A serious indictment has been filed against Shmuel Gross, a farmer from Netanya, for forced labor, violence, and indecent acts against foreign workers from Thailand. According to the indictment, Gross exploited the workers' distress, employed them without permits, housed them in poor conditions, treated them violently, and committed indecent acts against two female workers. The complainants were recognized as victims of forced labor.

He employed them in work beyond the permit, paid in cash, and sometimes did not pay full wages. The workers were housed in poor conditions without beds, hot water, or a door to the toilet. Gross treated them with physical and verbal violence, beat them, pushed them, and sprayed them with water. He also employed two female workers in household chores, and against one of them he committed indecent acts using force. The complainants were recognized as victims of forced labor. The indictment was filed as part of the government's fight against human trafficking, in cooperation with Lahav 433, the Ministry of Justice, and the State Attorney's Office.
