For the first time since October 7: Chile and Honduras return their ambassadors to Israel

President Isaac Herzog today (Monday) received the credentials of six new ambassadors at the President's Residence. Among the ambassadors who presented their credentials: the ambassador of Sri Lanka, Saman Kumar Chandrasiri; the ambassador of Georgia, Beka Davali; the ambassador of Nigeria, Nkechi Linda Opuchohwo; the ambassador of Germany, Alexander Graf Lambsdorff; the ambassador of Chile, Gabriel Alejandro Zaliasnik Schilkrut; and the ambassador of Honduras, José Luis Núñez Benet. The return of the ambassadors of Chile and Honduras is the first since October 7. In a meeting with the Chilean ambassador, Herzog referred to the efforts of Trump's peace council, saying they could lead to dialogue with neighbors. He praised the 20-point plan adopted by the UN Security Council, under the commitment to disarm Hamas, and expressed hope that Hamas would be completely disarmed. He mentioned the possibility of establishing a technocratic government in Gaza, with the assistance of President Trump and the peace council.
