Footage: Destruction of main tunnels in Hezbollah terror network at Beaufort

Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz announced that IDF forces destroyed the main tunnels in Hezbollah's terror network at the Beaufort ridge in southern Lebanon, using about 700 tons of explosives. The tunnels served as a central terror command for the 'Badr' unit and were part of the plan to invade Galilee communities. The operation was carried out following a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a joint statement on Friday night, announcing that IDF forces destroyed the main tunnels in the terror network in the Beaufort ridge area in southern Lebanon. According to the statement, this was an extensive underground infrastructure that was a central part of Hezbollah's plan to invade Galilee communities. The tunnels were blown up using about 700 tons of explosives, as part of systematic operations to destroy Hezbollah's terror infrastructure in southern Lebanon. According to Netanyahu and Katz, the operation was carried out following a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by the terror organization. The statement said that the State of Israel 'will not accept any violation of the ceasefire agreement' and that any attempt by Hezbollah to harm our forces or Israeli citizens will be met with a harsh response. It was also emphasized that our forces will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon and will continue to destroy any terror infrastructure that threatens Israel. As part of the operation, forces of Division 36, led by the Northern Command, destroyed several central underground routes in the Beaufort ridge. According to the IDF, the network served as a central command complex from which fighting was managed and fire was directed at our forces and Israeli citizens. The infrastructure was built over about two decades, included several levels, and served as a central terror command for Hezbollah's 'Badr' unit in southern Lebanon. The infrastructure was located about 6 kilometers from Metula and the Galilee panhandle, and from it dozens of drones, explosive drones, and anti-tank missiles were launched in the past. The IDF noted that after the destruction of the additional routes tonight, most of the underground tunnel array in the Beaufort ridge area has been destroyed. Meanwhile, our forces continue to operate in the Ali Taher ridge area and maintain high readiness for attack and defense.
