Following Tel events: Occupation arrests 200 citizens in a week

The Israeli occupation army admitted to arresting more than 200 citizens in the West Bank within a week, following events in the town of Tel in Nablus. It confiscated tens of thousands of shekels under the pretext of financing terrorism, and claimed to have carried out offensive operations. This comes after orders by Netanyahu and Katz to expand operations, following a settler attack that resulted in the killing of 4 Palestinians and two Israelis.

This came after orders issued by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of the Army Israel Katz to expand military operations in the area. The army stated in a statement that its forces arrested more than 200 Palestinians under the claim that they were "wanted," and confiscated tens of thousands of shekels under the claim that they were "designated for terrorism." It claimed to have carried out dozens of "offensive" operations, and claimed that the detainees included those accused of "incitement" and affiliation with the Hamas movement, a person who planned an imminent attack, and others on charges of smuggling workers, arms trade, and manufacturing explosives. The army seized dozens of pieces for manufacturing weapons, hunting rifles, a pistol, and a drone, and found 5 explosive devices and destroyed them. The arrests come days after the events in the town of Tel last Friday, when settlers attacked the town and residents confronted them, resulting in the killing of 4 Palestinians and injuries to others, and the burning of homes and vehicles, and the killing of two Israelis. Following that, Netanyahu and Katz ordered a wide-scale operation, including the demolition of a Palestinian home, the withdrawal of work permits, and the acceleration of establishing settlement outposts.
