Flight prices for Tishrei holidays drop, but not for all destinations and not for long

Flight prices for the Tishrei holidays are dropping in some destinations, with a reduction of up to 58% to Larnaca compared to last year, but in popular destinations like Berlin and Tbilisi prices are already rising. The strengthening shekel helps consumers, but as the holidays approach, prices are expected to rise.

Flight ticket prices for the Tishrei holidays present a mixed picture: while some destinations see significant price drops compared to last year, popular destinations are already seeing price increases. According to data from lastminute.co.il, for Rosh Hashanah the sharpest drop was to Larnaca (58%), followed by Rome (57%), Budapest and Prague (46%), Rhodes (42%), and Athens (38%). However, for Yom Kippur and Sukkot the picture changes: alongside drops in classic European destinations, destinations with limited supply are becoming more expensive. Thus, the price to Dubai rose by 21%, and for Sukkot Tbilisi rose by 38% and Berlin by 18%. Asaf Greenberg, VP Marketing of lastminute.co.il, notes that this is a "window of opportunity" for booking, but as the holidays approach prices may rise. The strengthening shekel, with a dollar rate about 9% lower than last July, works in the consumer's favor and increases savings in shekel terms.
