Traffic investigators from the Eilat district police located within hours a driver suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run accident yesterday (Wednesday) in Eilat. The driver, a resident of Fureidis in his 50s who works in Eilat, left the scene without providing details. A check revealed that he was driving while his license was suspended by court order, the vehicle's registration had expired, and the vehicle had no valid insurance. The accident occurred around 11:35 AM at the traffic circle on Givati Brigade and HaMelacha streets, when he collided with an electric bicycle rider. The bicycle rider was evacuated in mild condition and released. The investigation indicates that this is not suspected of being a hit-and-run offense but rather leaving the scene of an accident without providing details.
