First Publication: Suspect in Battery Theft from Vehicles in Be'er Sheva Captured

A resident of Tel Sheva in his twenties was arrested on suspicion of stealing batteries from vehicles in Be'er Sheva. Police blocked his car, found three stolen batteries, and the suspect was transferred for investigation. His detention was extended at the Magistrate's Court.

Israel Police arrested a young man in his twenties from Tel Sheva on suspicion of breaking into vehicles and stealing batteries in Be'er Sheva. The arrest was carried out yesterday after police blocked the suspect's car and found three batteries stolen from different cars that same day. The suspect was transferred for questioning at the local police station, and today (Monday) he will be brought to a hearing on extending his detention at the city's Magistrate's Court. Be'er Sheva station commander, Deputy Superintendent Kfir Solomon, stated that the police are acting decisively against property crimes and that the swift arrest is the result of professional activity. The incident began following a report of a break-in into a parked car, and forces identified a suspicious vehicle that apparently was used for the spree of thefts.
