A 27-year-old resident of Netanya, known to police from prior cases of theft, burglary, drugs, and assault, was arrested on suspicion of a central role in the theft of weapons from the Shayetet 13 naval commando base in Atlit. Investigators from the Coastal District Central Unit arrested him, and his most recent arrest occurred only about a month ago. The suspect gave his account, but police claim it does not align with the evidence in the case and even strengthens the suspicion against him. The stolen weapons, three M4 rifles, have been located. He is the fourth detainee in the case, and the investigation continues. The case also includes a regular soldier in the Nahal Brigade arrested on suspicion of stealing weapons and trading with criminal elements, and two other civilians, residents of Netanya, whose detention has been extended.
