Saada called the move 'unethical and immoral,' saying it contradicts democratic principles and ignores the voting results of party members. He became the first Likud MK to oppose the idea. Criticism from MK Tali Gottlieb toward Netanyahu's circle was also reported.
Likud MK Moshe Saada became the first party member to publicly oppose Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's possible decision to reserve a spot on the party list for Avi Dichter. On Tuesday evening, Channel 11 reported that after Dichter's poor showing in the primaries, Netanyahu was considering granting him a guaranteed spot in the next elections. In the morning, Saada told Channel 2 that such a move contradicts democratic principles and ignores the voting results of party members. He called it 'unethical and immoral,' adding that 'the public chose us.' Saada stressed that primary results should matter in forming the list. It was also reported that MK Tali Gottlieb, who secured a safe spot, criticized Netanyahu's circle, which she said tried to have her removed from the list, and warned the prime minister that she might not be appointed justice minister.
