First in Likud? Demand for Digital Voting in Primaries

The Likud Reservists Forum has approached party director David Sharan with a demand to establish a digital voting mechanism or mobile polling stations for reserve soldiers in the primaries, against the backdrop of their prolonged service since October 7.

The Likud Reservists Forum, headed by attorney Shlomo Lerner, sent an official letter today (Thursday) to party director David Sharan demanding that digital voting or mobile polling stations be allowed for reserve soldiers in the upcoming primaries. The letter notes that since October 7, tens of thousands of reserve soldiers have been serving in prolonged combat rotations, including thousands of Likud members, and the party must prevent a situation where their military service harms their right to vote. The appeal comes amid legal and political disputes over the primary framework, and following remarks by the president of the Likud court, Michael Kleiner, who said yesterday in an interview with Channel 14 that he does not rule out an alternative in an emergency.
