Fire breaks out in Herzliya apartment due to laptop left charging; parents and baby rescued

A fire broke out this morning in an apartment in Herzliya after a laptop was left charging on a sofa. Firefighting teams rescued a couple and their baby, who were taken to the hospital in mild condition. Early this morning (Wednesday), a fire broke out in an apartment on Rabbi Kook Street in Herzliya, caused by a laptop left charging on a sofa in the living room. Firefighting teams rescued a couple and their baby from the apartment, and they were taken to the hospital in mild condition. Investigators at the scene determined that the laptop, left charging on the sofa, caused the fire. The Israel Fire and Rescue Services stated: "Do not place a laptop on sofas or beds. The laptop's ventilation openings may become blocked, causing overheating in direct contact with flammable fabric." Additionally, it was recommended to install smoke detectors, which enable early detection of fire and provide warning time and the ability to exit the building safely. The incident joins a series of fires across the country, including a fire that broke out last night at a construction site in the BIG complex in Petah Tikva.
