In a Finance Committee meeting, MK Naor Shiri (Opposition) attacked the government's budget transfers, calling them 'election bribery at public expense'. According to him, the government is transferring hundreds of millions of shekels to coalition funds identified with the Haredi parties, while cutting essential budgets. Shiri detailed: 700 million shekels to coalition funds for Haredi factions; 17 million shekels for a summer school program in exempt institutions; 50 million shekels for preventing dropout from yeshivas; 28 million shekels for Jewish culture organizations; and tens of millions for the Settlement Division. He further claimed that the Ministry of Health is cutting half a billion shekels from the drug basket, and that government representatives are not providing answers. Shiri accused private education networks of receiving funds directly from the parties, and that those sitting on the Finance Committee are transferring the funds without oversight.
