The security establishment feared that fire from the village would be directed at settlements in the sector, against the backdrop of a family feud that developed in the area.

IDF, Border Police of Judea and Samaria, and Shin Bet completed over the past day an extensive counter-terrorism operation in the village of Beit Ummar in the Etzion Brigade. During the activity, more than 170 locations were scanned, wanted individuals were arrested, and various types of weapons were located. Yesterday (Wednesday), in preparation for the operation, forces from the Gideonim unit arrested a wanted individual in the village who, according to police, IDF, and Shin Bet spokespersons, was involved in the use of weapons as part of a family feud. The security establishment stated that in recent period, fire was carried out from within the village, and there is concern that the fire could be directed at settlements in the sector. The operation focused on arresting wanted individuals involved in the feud that developed in the area.
