Former X Factor finalist Gabrielle Carrington appeared at London's Old Bailey charged with murder. The 29-year-old singer and influencer is accused of fatally running over popular blogger Claudia Zakrzewska and seriously injuring nightclub security guard Anusha Chiche. The tragedy occurred around 4:30 a.m. on April 19 outside the Inca nightclub on Argyll Street in Soho. According to investigators, Carrington arrived at the venue in a car, got into a conflict with an unknown man, and the argument escalated into a mass brawl. She then returned to her black car, sharply accelerated, drove onto the sidewalk, and ran over people. Zakrzewska died on April 25 in the hospital, leading to the charge being upgraded from attempted murder. Analysis found Carrington had 61 micrograms of alcohol per 100 ml of breath, exceeding the limit. At the August 3 hearing, Carrington appeared via video link from Bronzefield prison. She refused lawyers and is defending herself, denying both charges. Judge Whitehouse set the trial for January 5. Carrington has over 365,000 Instagram followers and rose to fame in 2013 as an X Factor finalist in the group Miss Dynamix.
